Joshua ~ Rasheed whichever floats your boat's Blurbs
About me: I was born in July, It was a cold snowy day...in Antartica. It was hot as hell where I was born. Sugar cane country, which was perfect for me, because I love sugar. Perhaps a bit too much, if you can say "24/7 sugar rush" is too much. It's a good thing I like sugar because I hate coffee, I'd rather lick the bottom of a boot...as long as it's a never before worn perfectly clean boot, preferably coated with sugar. Anyway, Back to the day I was born, I don't remember much about it unfortunately. But I'm pretty sure clouds parted letting the sun shine right onto the hospital. I believe from that moment my parents knew they were in trouble.
After I was born things got interesting. Believe it or not I learned to walk, although I don't do it very well. I also learned to talk. My first word was "meep"that's right, "meep", From the Road Runner. Apparently I've always been addicted to TV, especially cartoons, I still like cartoons. My TV stays on Toon Disney, Disney, or Cartoon Network most of the time. I'm like a 5'9" child, only with much larger diapers. I know when I was young I went to a place called Nana's daycare, since both my parents worked a lot. I didn't like it, I hated naps. Now I wish I could nap at random points in the day, and sometimes do, although they hate it at work. I used to LOVE apple juice when I was a toddler, now it just makes me poop. I still do hate vegetables though, I won't eat anything green.
So, once. I got past my terrible two's...and other terrible things, it was time to start something even more terrible...SCHOOL! I don't remember my first day of school, but I'm sure I cried, because that is soooo me. I do remember liking kindergarten, in fact all through school i liked it for the most, part...yeah, I'm weird. Anyway, the best thing about kindergarten was the fingerpainting, yes I made some masterpieces. They rivaled the works of Picasso, Monet, and Van Gogh. Tragically they have been lost in a horrible place, my mom's closet. Not sure if there are more masterpieces are shoes in the but I do know it will all be preserved for ages to come. Third grade was fun, that's when I started taking Ritalin. Why? Have you looked at this site?...Yeah. The thing I liked most about elementary school was the field trips, those were the days...sitting on a hot bus throwing things at the driver...
The good news about middle school is that I never had acne problems, or other adolescent problems, I like to think because I never grew up. The bad news is I was a wimp, still am. We had gym class and that was always killer, usually exercise for me is lifting the remote, or on a much harder scale, opening the refrigerator door. The best thing about middle school was I had freedom to do my own projects for grades in some of my classes, so I was able to do my own thing. Conforming is for losers. Actually, not really, getting lost in the crowd is a great way to meet new people, and occasionally get new arrest warrants.
I decided to give ninth grade it's own little section in my little bio because in New Iberia we had a school just for ninth graders. That's right, I went to a special people school, imagine. It was also the year I got into acting, some say I could be the next Jerry Lewis. Unfortunately I think I may be the next Rick Roberts. Who is Rick Roberts? Exactly. It was the year that I got involved with the Iberia Performing Arts League. It was a great experience for me, like eating a good gumbo, which happens to be the one of the greatest experiences in the world. Mmmm, cajun food, visit South Louisiana, and eat! It's like heaven on earth, only less clouds. I also won the "best actor" of the year award for the school which was great, but just goes to prove everyone in the school was deaf....and blind. Very good year though.
High school was pretty boring for me. Just because I'm a pretty boring person. Basically I just went to class...and got in trouble for not doing homework. Homework is entirely overrated I like to go home and blog, or sleep, and that's about it. I did learn how to drive in these years, but I HATE driving. If I were the only one on a straight road, during daylight, with no rain, wind or clouds, and there were rocking awesome tunes on the radio, then I wouldn't mind driving. I did get an A in drivers ed, because I did well on the written part. But my instructor said he was afraid to ever go on the freeway again after driving with me, I think he about had a heart-attack. Then when I went to get my license the lady asked me all the hard questions...like how to turn on my brights, and the windshield wipers. Then she asked me to honk the horn, I was like finally and easy one. Strangely enough I did get my license. I didn't drive for a long time after I had my license. Two reasons: One, I didn't like it. Two, my parents wanted me to pay for my insurance, but if I did that how would I buy designer sunglasses? Eventually my parents got so tired of shuttling me around they gave in. I did like high school, I enjoy learning. My senior year I was pretty much out of hard classes so I got in to a pottery class and one called native crafts. Let's just say I suck at making vases etc. They all seemed to be lopsided and looked strangely like clumps of swamp mud. But I had fun making them!
So I graduated high school which was...expected. Then it was off to college. I lived right lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans. It was really pretty, I'd go sit on the levee everyday to do my homework. Or at least pretend to do my homework, it usually turned out to be mostly doodling. Every weekend I'd go to the French Quarter and walk around just to take in the sights. The big boats on the river, the tourists in horse drawn carriages, guy doing "spray paint art" people pretending to be statues, homeless people praying over their food as pigeons ate it. That sure was the life. I'd take the St. Charles street car down to Audubon Park a lot. Which is when I usually became more like a tour guide than someone for a relaxing evening. I'd tell people about the city, and the best places to go. You could tell I was in the hotel business. I didn't drive in New Orleans because traffic is icky, like week old cheese cake. So when I went home on the weekends I took the train. That was really cool. I'd go to the sightseeing car on the Sunset Limited and talk to old people. Old people are neat, they have lots of stories to tell, and lots of dentures to wear. Going to class while in college only happened some of the time. Well, I went to afternoon classes, because I really do like class. My morning classes were often slept through though.
Who I'd like to meet: Humans...
